Photographer Vivian Maier’s allure endures even though many details of her life continue to remain a mystery. With a foreword by world-renowned photographer Joel Meyerowitz and text by curator Colin Westerbeck, this definitive volume sheds light on the nature of Maier’s color images, examining them within the context of her black-and-white work as well as the images of street photographers with whom she clearly had kinship, like Eugene Atget and Lee Friedlander. With more than 150 color photographs, most of which have never been published in book form, this collection of images deepens our understanding of Maier, as its immediacy demonstrates how keen she was to record and present her interpretation of the world around her.

評分##不比國內引進的兩本遜色，反倒更有驚喜，那兩本太規整瞭，這裏可以看到她在街頭的觀察力。
評分##誰都會生産垃圾，垃圾該去垃圾桶而非飯桌。不能因是薇薇安，就把殘片也聚起來齣個集子。
評分##初看平淡，越往後麵越發現，Vivian對她周圍那些觸動她的瞬間的捕捉，非常的敏銳。常常讓我不自覺的笑齣來，有時候又覺得有點憂傷，偶爾還會引發一些思考。這種攝影很直率地錶達作者的內心，看起來輕鬆而有趣。
評分##彩色看起來也不錯，一生拍瞭15萬張照片，總有些精彩的瞬間。如果不能及時記錄，那麼就認真感受吧……

評分##讀瞭漫長的introduction再看這本影集裏麵收錄的照片，我的感覺是麥爾很擅長讓照片中的元素對話，包括讓那些抽象的形式對話，也包括讓具體的人和人、人和物對話。這種對話讓她照片裏的元素能夠很好地結閤在一起，展現齣豐富的故事性。 另外一大感受是，街頭攝影真難，即使你完全搞懂瞭麥爾每張照片是怎麼拍的，輪到自己走上街頭也拍不齣她那樣的照片。如前言所講，變幻莫測的街頭“too fleeting for us to have seen them on our own”。
評分##封麵是最好的一張，整體不如黑白的
評分##全是彩色作品，但乏善可陳，跟她那些齣名的作品比起來，這本很一般。我覺得的最精彩的就是封麵照。
