　　整本书在社会主义和资本主义以及希望的理想主义和现实的金钱主义之间冲突着。不仅仅是社会主义妹妹和资本主义姐姐的冲突，还有理想主义天真父亲为代表的男人们与现实主义“一种廉价的劳动力资源”瓦伦蒂娜为代表的女人们的冲突，更重要的是捍卫家庭的两姐妹与入侵掠夺的瓦伦蒂娜母子之间的冲突。这些冲突之中，突显了世界观、价值观、乃至人生观的冲突，作者精巧地将本质的生理需要和天真的心理需要编织在各种冲突中，近乎完整地展示了乌克兰人以及东欧斯拉夫人的性格特色。塑造了为了一己之欲差点一点致自己岳母惨遭“肃清”、又因一己之欲几乎毁掉自己晚年生活的父亲，更重要的是因此塑造了人生观价值观几乎完全相悖的两姊妹，从他们的身上让读者看见了那段不堪回首的历史，也由此达成了两姊妹和解后的全新的平和生活。

很好玩，中英文各买了一本，还买了一本她写的草莓地。英文这本是平装的，大概是小32开，纸皮本，纸质较差，很轻，但装订质量还是可以的。
