高居翰(James Cahill),1926年齣生於美國加州,曾長期擔任加州大學伯剋利分校藝術史和研究生院的教授,以及華盛頓弗利爾美術館中國書畫部顧問,他的著作多由在各大學授課時的講稿修訂,或充分利用博物館資源編纂而成,皆是通過風格分析研究中國繪畫史的經典書籍,享有世界範圍的學術聲譽。
