A few incidents of disastrous tornadoes are mentioned, such as the time when a tornado in Minnesota lifted a passenger train from its tracks and carried it 80 feet through the air. The writing is clear, concise, and rhythmic. Maestro's color drawings are also clear and understandable, and fit well with the book's design. This book is for younger audiences than Fradin's Disaster ! Tornados (Childrens, 1982). It should be just the thing for young readers interested in the subject. 作者簡介

Franklyn M. Branley was Astronomer Emeritus and former Chairman of the American Museum-Hayden Planetarium. In 1960, he originated the Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science series. Dr. Branley was the author of over 150 science books for children.

推薦的圖書，還是不錯的，這本誘惑，片很大，圖案清楚，適閤寶寶看。穿過卡片的絲帶如果設計的更牢固，不易損壞，就更好瞭，該絲帶首先不容易穿過洞，很易壞。建議買者先用火燒一下，會保持時間長。適閤兩歲以內的寶寶。卡片的質量沒得說，而且設計很科學，四邊都有打孔，方便傢長靈活組閤，圖片分類、圖畫色彩都沒得說，卡片都有經過倒角處理，不會傷害孩子，孩子很是喜歡看。如果說90年代以前的校園還是一種死讀書的校園的話，那1990年代之後的校園則更具有個性話，像伏地魔一樣從外部滲透到校園裏來的“惡”（復雜的成人化交往模式之“惡”、黑社會和小混混之“惡”，孩子們內心深處不知從何處沾染卻又一時難以澄明的“惡”，等等）則幾乎沒有被任何“兒童文學”觸及，更談不上提供一套想象的消解模式供小朋友們進行“鏡像印證”。人們在麵對“惡”的時候，往往希望自己可以看到“惡”的本質！而《哈利·波特》正好提供給青少年一個自身年齡段中發生的“正邪對立”的故事。
