作者简介

Judith Kerr was born in Berlin, the daughter of a distinguished German writer. She left Germany with her family in 1933 to escape from the Nazis and they arrived in England in 1936, having spent the intervening years in Switzerland and France. She has a daughter who is a designer and a son who is a novelist. Judith lives in London.

---关于这一点我很认同，同时在自己开办图书馆后，也经常被人问道这个问题。诸如，我家孩子还不到一岁，能看书嘛？孩子小，不看书，只喜欢抢书，我怎么办？其实，和孩子讲故事，是一种情感交流，让它和说话一样自然吧。刚开始，可以唱一些儿歌，念一些唐诗，或者读一些自己喜欢的文章给孩子听。孩子并不要求一开始你就教育他，他只希望经常有人陪伴，有人和他说话。

这对母女除了喜爱故事书，享受阅读时光之外，额外的收获是艾琳的语言能力一直在进步。当她21个月时，她就可以说出完整的句子；到了24个月时，她已经知道1000个词。这样的成就并没有借助任何识字卡片来完成。艾琳的的父亲事实上也参与了读故事，他们有一些藏书被艾琳贴上了“爸爸的书”的标签，表示哪些是爸爸读的书。

艾琳出生后的4个月内，都是看一些软厚厚的幼儿书，或是用又厚又硬的纸板制成的童书，这些书除了看之外，还可以当玩具玩。艾琳4个月之后开始喜欢各类的立体书，她总是每天看2至3次这样的书，而且每次长达45分钟。到她10个月大时，我开始很渴望读真正的故事书给她听，所以我决定讲她放在儿童用餐的高脚椅上听我读故事书（这样才能防止她撕书），这么做效果很好，而且她的有些反应也让我感到惊讶。日记中，早餐后9本书；午餐后10本书、4首诗；晚餐后7本书。最后我总共花了75分钟读了25本书。
