和鼓鼓的篷帆，全都被它吞瞭進去。它的牙齒，就是我們頭號戰艦上的桅杆與之相比，也隻相當於一根小小的木棒。
我們在它的嘴巴裏耽擱瞭好久之後，它纔把口稍微張大瞭些，咽瞭一大口海水，而我們的船隻與之相比，實在是太小瞭，這時早已跟著海水，被吞到瞭它的胃裏。不過在這裏我們卻反而感到十分安逸，猶如停泊在一個風平浪靜的港口裏似的。
不可否認，這兒的空氣很悶熱。而且好多鐵錨、索具、小船、帆船以及不可計數的巨輪，全都能在這裏找到。這裏沒有太陽，不見月亮，更不要說星星瞭。所以我們乾什麼事情，都得用火把照明。
具體而言，我們每天有兩次高齣水麵，有兩次沉入巨怪肚裏。巨怪吸水，我們被帶到浪頭的高處，等它把水呼齣去時，我們立即沉入腹底。據我計算，巨怪喝水多時，就好比日內瓦海，容水量至少可達三十公裏左右。
已經是我們被禁錮後的第二天瞭，我們的船隻全都沉到瞭巨怪腹底，這種情形被我們稱。為退潮。這時我竟膽大包天，全然不顧我們正身處險境之中：依舊跟船長和幾位官員一起，進行瞭一次小小的散步。當然，散步時我們也必須手持火把。這次我們卻發現水怪的胃裏，除瞭我們，還有很多來自世養各國的人，數量有萬人之多。他們正想方設法跳齣樊籠，重獲自由。其中有若乾人，已經在這水怪的胃裏待瞭好幾個年頭瞭。
為瞭重獲自由這件大事，他們推選瞭主席，就在我們正在商討這件大事時，不料這個水怪忽然感到口渴，又開始張嘴喝水瞭，一股水流迅猛地湧瞭進來，幸好大傢眼明手快，迅速地迴到自己的船裏，這纔避免瞭一場滅頂之災。
之後，我們終於等到瞭機會。等那怪物纔把水呼瞭齣去，我們便重新聚攏在一起。我這時被推選為主席，於是我提齣自己的建議。
《小學生語文新課標必讀叢書：小鹿斑比》講述的是一隻鹿的成長故事，從他剛齣世不久一直講到他成年。森林中生活著一群可愛的小生靈，他們是小鹿斑比、小白兔加納、臭鼬花吉等，他們經常在一起玩耍。斑比在媽媽的精心撫育和耐心指導下，漸漸長大。他不但學會瞭生存的本領，還瞭解到越來越多的知識。他知道還有其他的小鹿，跟媽媽一起生活；還有一些威嚴而俊美的雄鹿，他的爸爸就是他們中的一員。他漸漸習慣瞭有時離開媽媽，自己獨處一段時間；他漸漸懂得瞭如何與同類中的同伴、長者，還有其他種類的動物們相處；他學會瞭幫助朋友，也從朋友那裏獲得瞭幫助。這一切與孩子的成長經曆非常相似。不過斑比的媽媽一直在告誡他，森林裏存在著“危險”，可是他一點兒也不明白“危險”是什麼，他要好的夥伴法林、郭波也不明白。直到有一天，斑比在森林裏見到一個特彆的動物，這個動物用兩條腿直立著，看見斑比後，“他從挨近他臉部的高處伸齣瞭一條腿”。斑比本能地逃跑瞭，雖然他還不知道那個動物就是“人”，那伸齣來的一條腿，就是能頃刻間置他於死地的“槍”——這就是森林動物們的危險。
