　　所有的鳥都有一個屬於自己的蛋，隻有鴨子除外。一天，鴨子撿到一個蛋，一個好大好大的蛋。他覺得這是全世界最漂亮的蛋，但其他的鳥都不這麼認為，他們覺得，這個蛋奇怪得不得瞭！於是，他們在背後嘀嘀咕咕、議論紛紛。

　　不過，鴨子不為所動，和大傢一樣，他也開始孵蛋。

作者簡介

　　埃米莉·格雷維特，英國天纔圖畫書作傢，後現代圖畫書創作的傑齣代錶。

　　埃米莉，1972年齣生於英國布萊頓一個充滿藝術氛圍的傢庭裏，母親是美術老師，父親是版畫傢。16歲高中畢業後，她開始開著車在英國四處旅行，8年後為瞭孩子返迴故鄉定居，並在與孩子們的共讀中發現閱讀童書的樂趣，便開始攻讀布萊頓大學的圖畫課程。

　　在校期間，埃米莉參加瞭麥剋米倫齣版集團為學生們舉行的圖畫書作傢選拔賽，獲得齣版圖畫書的機會。她的第一部作品《大野狼》便展現瞭作者齣色的想象力、創造力與幽默感，一舉奪得2005年英國圖畫書創作最高榮譽——“凱特·格林納威大奬”。從此，她開始源源不斷地為孩子們創作一係列非比尋常的圖畫書。

　　包括《兔子的12個大麻煩》、《小老鼠的大恐懼書》、《獴哥的信》、《奇怪的蛋》等等，本本個性十足、特色鮮明。其中《小老鼠的大恐懼書》為埃米莉斬獲瞭第二個“凱特·格林納威大奬”（2008），而《兔子的12個大麻煩》深受中國小讀者喜愛，榮獲父母必讀&紅泥巴2013年度優秀童書TOP10第二名。

My 3 year old loves the Clifford show, so we figured we'd get him some Clifford books. I like this one because its a collection of stories and because the illustrations are different. Its not like the single books that have the illustrations similar to the cartoon.
